At this table the historical links of Salamanca and its University with chess will be discussed. At this table it will be highlighted that it was in this city and its University the place where the first modern chess treatise was published in the 16th century – until that date the figure of the lady was not incorporated into the game. Besides this change the movement of other pieces suffered modifications acquiring a greater dynamism in the game. We will also talk about the hobby of the Rector Miguel de Unamuno, hobby that has followed all his family until our days
