Mónica Calzetta Ruiz

Mónica Calzetta Ruiz, born in 1972, is a Spanish Woman Grand Master. Her chess career has been very successful. Her best performances include Spanish Champion (seven times), 2010 European Union Championship and her participation in several women’s candidates tournaments.

She has represented Spain at the Olympiads twelve times: 1992, 1994, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 (five times Board 1). She has also played for Spain at the European Team Championship in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017 (four times Board 1)
